Bryson West Horner (the best, brightest, and most beautiful baby in the world...of course I am a little biased)

So I guess it has been a little while since I posted, huh? Well, I guess that I will use my go to excuse, "I've been busy." Busy enough to postpone all extra curricular activities, including hiking, biking, paddling, and yes, blogging. But don't feel too bad for me yet, it was all well worth the effort. Over the last few months (that I neglected the blog) Lindsay and I have managed to prepare our house, cars, family and friends, and almost our minds for the coming of our son, Bryson. His awaited arrival has left Lindsay and I in wonderment. We wondered who he would look like, what kind of personality would he have, how would our lives change, and could we stand up to the challenge? Well, all of our questions have been answered...sort of.

Bryson West Horner came into the world at 6:40am on May 26, 2009. The experience was like nothing I have ever known and "sent my world a-whirlin'." It was a mix of excitement, joy, amazement, and freak out! As I witnessed the woman that I love LABOR through the delivery, I, like most dads, suddenly realized that there is no more I...it is US know. Our family has begun and I am so proud of my wife and son. Lindsay was a trooper, she endured a 15 hour delivery and then transformed into a perfect mom. Bryson didn't do too bad either, he endured the travel through the birth canal, the nursery (for those who don't know, they man-handle babies), and inexperienced parents. Needless to say, as the father and husband to these two, I am elated!

Well, now that we have survived 5 days, I am getting back to reality and fully enjoying the experience of being a new dad. One of my sister Jenn's friends, after a few days of being a new dad said, "we still have the baby...DHS hasn't come and taken him away yet!" While I don't neccessarily feel that inadequate, it is nice to know that with help from family (thanks mom, steph, and the rest...we couldn't have done it without y'all), Lindsay and I CAN survive parenthood. Well, better yet, Bryson can survive us! To tell you the truth, I keep waiting for him to get upset and have a bad day. He has been a really good baby so far...sleep, poop, pee, eat, repeat.

Anyway, I will write more about how he, and us, are doing along the way. For now, I will not make you wait any longer for pictures. So here is Bryson and thanks to all of my wonderful family and friends who waited up all night, traveled long distances, and have offered so much support! It is truly awesome to be a part of such a strong community of support although we are so far apart. Lindsay and I love all of you very much and are so appreciative.
